We’re hitting the road to inform more young people about the Future Teaching Scholars programme.
The roadshow has already been to sixth form colleges and schools around England, including Leicester; Huddersfield; Farnborough; Milton Keynes and Colchester. During the roadshow, year thirteen A-level students have had an opportunity to ask questions and apply to join the programme. If successful, they will be awarded a significant scholarship programme that includes a £15,000 grant whilst they study a maths or physics related degree, a place on a salaried initial teacher training (ITT) course, a pre-ITT course in the summer after they graduate, support in finding their first teaching job, and extensive personal and professional development support for six years based in outstanding Teaching Schools. Programme Director, Richard Churches, says “This is an exciting route into teaching, and we’re working with schools and colleges across England to inform them about they can be part of it”. This prestigious programme only has a limited number of spaces, and the current round of applications is open. To find out more and apply, visit www.futureteachingscholars.com.
