Travelling up and down the country to meet prospective scholars, with a very special guest in tow...

We’ve begun our tour around the UK, stopping off to talk to students, parents and teachers at the UCAS Higher Education exhibitions. If you haven’t managed to attend one yet, they are a fantastic place to find out more about universities and university life, as well as other opportunities such as apprenticeships and volunteer programmes.

So far we’ve been to Guildford, Worcester and Brighton, and met lots of great students interested in becoming a Future Teaching Scholar. It’s been a pleasure to be able to meet people face to face to talk about all the benefits and experience our scholars get to enjoy over course of the 6-year programme, with help from our colleagues at the regional training centres and some of our accessors, who’ve pitched in to go along and find prospective scholars.

Anyone that has dropped by our stand has also got to meet one of our favourite teachers of all time, Yoda! What he lacks in stature he more than makes up for in passion and wisdom – key attributes of an amazing teacher.

We will be continuing our tour over the next few months stopping at Tees Valley, Lincoln, Loughborough, Bournemouth, Stoke on Trent, Norwich, Cambridge and Hull. Come and say hello if you can make it to any of these events – we’d love to meet you.

"Always pass on what you have learned" - Yoda
